Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT •  Check the following PID/DATA monitor, using M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) ―  D_SP_S_FLT •  Is seat track position sensor circuit normal?	Yes	Replace the SAS control module. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)
		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR Warning •  Handling the air bag system components improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag modules and pre-tensioner seat belts, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag system components. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)(See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) •  Switch the ignition to off. •  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. •  Disconnect the seat track position sensor connector. •  Inspect the seat track position sensor connection. (Corrosion, damage, and disconnected pins) •  Is there any malfunction of the seat track position sensor connector?	Yes	Replace the malfunctioning part.
		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR AND SAS CONTROL MODULE •  Switch the ignition to off. •  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. •  Remove the glove compartment. (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) •  Disconnect the passenger-side air bag module connector. (See SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) •  Disconnect the driver and passenger-side front seat connectors. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) •  Remove the B-pillar lower trim. (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) •  Disconnect the driver and passenger-side pre-tensioner seat belt connectors. •  Remove the headliner. (See HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) •  Disconnect the driver and passenger-side curtain air bag module connectors. (See CURTAIN AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) •  Remove the rear package trim. (See REAR PACKAGE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) •  Disconnect the rear pre-tensioner seat belt connectors. •  Disconnect the seat track position sensor connector. •  Inspect the wiring harness between SAS control module terminal and seat track position sensor terminal for short to ground, short to power supply, and open circuit: ―  2V—A ―  2T—B •  Is the wiring harness normal?	Yes	Replace the seat track position sensor, then go to the next step.
		No	Replace wiring harness, then go to the next step.
4	PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION •  Switch the ignition off. •  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1min or more. •  Connect the SAS control module connectors. •  Reconnect all disconnected connectors. •  Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.) •  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). •  Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) •  Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) •  Are the same DTCs present?	Yes	Perform the inspection from Step 1. •  If the malfunction recurs, replace the SAS control module. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
