THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN INSPECTION

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear package tray (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Partially peel back the trunk side trim (LH) to the position allowing removal of the theft-deterrent siren.(See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the theft-deterrent siren. (See THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

6.  Verify that the voltages of each of the terminals are as indicated in the terminal voltage table (reference).

•  If the voltage is not as specified in the terminal voltage table (reference), inspect the parts under Inspection item(s) and related wiring harnesses.
―  If the system does not work normally even though the parts or related wiring harnesses do not have any malfunction, replace the theft-deterrent siren. (See THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
