DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP) INSPECTION [i-ELOOP]

1.  Verify that the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) related DTC is detected. (See DTC INSPECTION [i-ELOOP].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

•  If DTCs are detected, repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [i-ELOOP].) (See DTC TABLE [SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5].) (See DTC TABLE [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

•  If a DTC is not detected, go to the next step.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Disconnect the service plug. (See SERVICE PLUG DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [i-ELOOP].)

4.  Remove the air cleaner, air hose, and the fresh air duct component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

5.  Remove the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (SKYACTIV-D 1.5)

6.  Remove the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) cover. (See DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH i-ELOOP (SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5)].) (See DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH i-ELOOP (SKYACTIV-D 1.5)].)

7.  Do a visual inspection of the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP).

•  If the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) is damaged, replace it. (See DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH i-ELOOP (SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5)].) (See DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH i-ELOOP (SKYACTIV-D 1.5)].)

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
