REFRIGERANT LINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY.)(See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Engine cover (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)
(2)  Center cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL.)(See FRONT BUMPER INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Seal plate (See SEAL PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Bend back the front side of the mudguard (RH). (See MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Disconnect the connector.

6.  Remove the clips.

7.  Remove bolt A.

8.  Remove the clip.

9.  Disconnect the engine ground.

10.  Remove bolt B.

11.  Remove the nut.

12.  Remove bolt C.

13.  Set the PCM out of the way in the direction shown in the figure

14.  Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor connector.

15.  Remove the coolant reserve tank. (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

16.  Remove in the order indicated in the table. Do not allow compressor oil to spill.

Caution
•  If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration cycle parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the cycle.

17.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

18.  Perform the refrigerant system performance test. (See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST.)


Refrigerant line removal note

1.  Disconnect the block joint type pipes by grasping the female side of the block with pliers or similar tool and holding firmly, then tighten the connection bolt.

Refrigerant line installation note (1)

1.  Apply compressor oil to the O-rings and connect the joints.

2.  Tighten the joint bolt by hand.

3.  Connect the block joint type pipes by grasping the female side of the block with pliers or similar tool and holding firmly, then tighten the connection bolt.

Refrigerant line installation note (2)

1.   After replacing the refrigerant line, add compressor oil to the refrigeration cycle.

•  After replacing the cooler hose (HI)
Supplemental compressor oil amount (approx. quantity)
―  4 ml {4 cc, 0.1 fl oz}
•  After replacing the cooler hose (LO)
Supplemental compressor oil amount (approx. quantity)
―  1 ml {1 cc, 0.03 fl oz}
•   After replacing the cooler pipe
Supplemental compressor oil amount (approx. quantity)
―  1 ml {1 cc, 0.03 fl oz}
•   After replacing the cooler pipe A
Supplemental compressor oil amount (approx. quantity)
―  1 ml {1 cc, 0.03 fl oz}
•   After replacing the cooler pipe B
Supplemental compressor oil amount (approx. quantity)
―  1 ml {1 cc, 0.03 fl oz}
