Function Inspection Using M-MDS
STEP |
INSPECTION |
RESULTS |
ACTION |
---|---|---|---|
1
PURPOSE: VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related Service Information availability.
• Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
2
PURPOSE: VERIFY IF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT IS AFFECTED BY DTC RELATED TO GENERATOR OVERCHARGE
• Switch the ignition off, then ON (engine off).
• Perform the PCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
• Is the DTC P2504:00 also present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.
3
PURPOSE: VERIFY IF POWER SUPPLY IS AFFECTED BY DTC RELATED TO DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP)
• Perform the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [i-ELOOP].)
• Are any DTCs present?
Yes
DTC U3000:49 is displayed:
• Go to the next step.
Any other DTCs are displayed:
• Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [i-ELOOP].)
No
Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 1.
4
VERIFY THE OPEN CIRCUIT CONDITION OF THE CAPACITOR CUIRCUIT
• Access the CAP_SYS10 PID using the M-MDS.
• Is the CAP_SYS10 PID value off?
Yes
Reconnect the service plug, then go to the next Step.
No
Go to the next step.
5
PURPOSE: DETERMINE IF THE MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP) BY VERIFYING THE PID RELATED TO THE CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP)
• Access the following DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) PIDs using the M-MDS
• Are all of the PID item “CAP_SYS10, CAP_SYS_14, CAP_SYS_16, CAP_SYS_17” values off?
Yes
Replace the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP).
(See DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH i-ELOOP (SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5)].)
Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 2.
No

Troubleshooting Diagnostic Procedure
STEP |
INSPECTION |
RESULTS |
ACTION |
---|---|---|---|
1
PURPOSE: VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY ENGAGEMENT MALFUNCTION OF EACH PART
• Switch the ignition off.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Remove the service plug.
• Verify that the following parts are engaged correctly.
• Is the engagement condition of each part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Tighten the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) or capacitor (i-ELOOP) properly, then go to the next step.
